PETROTERMINAL DE PANAMÁ, S.A., BRINGS SMILES TO PANAMANIAN FAMILIES AT CHRISTMAS TIME

In a joint effort between Petroterminal de Panamá, S.A., the PTP Volunteers and the company’s employees, the campaign “Give a Smile for the whole family this Christmas” was carried out, an annual charity event to bring happiness to families in communities surrounding PTP’s facilities during the holiday season.

This initiative has been carried out since 1997, when a group of Atlantic Terminal employees led by Mr. Asunción Rodríguez, a former PTP employee, proposed organizing in December to deliver gifts to the children of Chiriquí Grande with the intention that every child in the area would receive a toy during the Christmas holidays. This is the initiative that today is known as “Give a Smile this Christmas”.

This year, with the intention of amplifying its impact on the festivities of the families in the community, two initiatives were carried out in the provinces where the company operates. On the one hand, gifts and biosecurity equipment were delivered to 28 institutions, including schools and NGOs, benefiting 2,851 children attending the Chiriquicito School #01, Chiriquicito School #02, Chiriquicito-Malí School, CEBG Dionisia Ayarza, Rambala School, Los Chiricanos School, Molejones School, Punta de Punta de la Plata School, Punta de la Plata School, Chiriquicito School, Molejones School, Punta Robalo School, Garza School, Aldeas SOS, FANLYC, Hogar Medalla Milagrosa, Niños y Niñas de Jesús Sin Fronteras Foundation, Hogar San Francisco de Asís, Comedor Santa Rita, el Hogar de Niños y Niñas Amados and Obaldia Hospital, David Valle de la Luna Lions Club, Km24 School, Foursquare Church Teca #1 and Teca #2, Quebrada de Tallo School, Las Mellicitas Educational Center, Nuevo Pacto Foursquare Church, Group of Children with Disabilities, Baptist Church, Lions Club 20-30, CSS Pediatric Ward and San Vicente Bilingual School.

In addition, PTP volunteers organized a collection of dry food and personal hygiene products for the families supported by the Niños de Jesús Sin Fronteras Foundation. This donation benefited 85 families in the communities of Divalá, Chichica in Tolé, Boca Remedio in Soloy and the San José de las Lomas Orphanage in David. Collaborators from all work areas participated, resulting in a donation valued at approximately B/.1,009.00.
