DELIVERY OF AGRICULTURAL TOOLS AND SEEDS FOR SCHOOL GARDENS
Following up on the school garden program that began in April 2022, Petroterminal de Panamá S.A. continues to deliver agricultural tools and seeds to two schools in the Chiriquí Grande District.
The program started this year with the participation of two schools in the area. The first to receive the supplies was the Chiriqui Mali School. This was followed by the Los Molejones School, which received the tools and seeds for the growth of the gardens.
A month later, the results of the plantations were seen, and banana seeds were delivered to be incorporated into the gardens. After the pilot program with these two schools, other schools requested to be considered for this initiative.
The company has been able to expand the initiative to two other schools: Escuela la Loma and Escuela Los Chiricanos. In total, the company has benefited more than 573 students and 25 teachers with a total investment of B/. 2,342.49.
The learning will be used by the students, and they will be able to apply it in their homes and even take it as an entrepreneurial initiative in the future.
“What excites us most is that, with the delivery of these supplies, the schools will be able to prepare school gardens so that students can learn to grow and harvest their food,” said Jorge Chin, Administrative Supervisor of Terminal Atlántico, “the production will be part of their diet”.
