In line with its commitment to education and community development, Petroterminal recently made significant donations to two key educational institutions in the province of Chiriqui: the Professional and Technical Institute (IPT) of David and the Integral Education Training Center of David. These initiatives are part of the company’s Social Responsibility Program, with the objective of supporting young people and improving their technical training opportunities.

The donation to the IPT of David, valued at B/.9,796.65, included materials necessary for the construction of a practice galley, which will allow the students of the Construction specialty to carry out their practices in an adequate and safe environment. In addition, the school’s multi-sports court was cleaned, painted and improved, benefiting more than 700 middle and high school students, who now have better-equipped facilities for the development of sports activities that contribute to their physical wellbeing.

The Integral Education Training Center of David received a donation of B/.10,123.41 for the improvement of two classrooms, donation of an industrial stove and industrial ceiling fans, and other structural improvements. These improvements seek to optimize the physical conditions of the classrooms, providing a more comfortable learning environment for the 262 students, who are youth at social risk.

These initiatives are directly aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education, since by improving educational infrastructure and providing the necessary resources for technical practices, Petroterminal de Panamá, S.A. contributes to equitable access to quality education that promotes technical and professional learning. They also relate to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, as strengthening technical and vocational education prepares students for the labor market, boosting economic growth and promoting decent jobs in the future.

Through these actions, PTP promotes education and access to opportunities for new generations. These donations not only improve the quality of technical training in the region, but also contribute to the creation of more dignified and adequate learning spaces for the integral development of students.
